In Spring 2026, members of BCAP’s Prevention Team attended conferences to connect, learn, and share information with the network of HIV Treatment and Prevention workers who do this work all around the country. BCAP’s Prevention team split up to attend two conferences, both of which were new to our staff.
From March 18th – 20th, BCAP’s Prevention Director (now Associate Director), Mariah Frank, and Prevention/Harm Reduction Services Coordinator, Darrien Adams, attended the SYNChronicity 2026 Conference in Washington, DC.
SYNChronicity is the national conference for HIV, HCV, STIs, Drug User Health, and LGBTQ Health organized by HealthHIV, HealthHCV, and the National Coalition for LGBTQ Health. This year’s theme was “Forward in Synchronicity” and the conference aimed to address a multidisciplinary and intersectional approach to health disparities.
SYNChronicity 2026 featured informational sessions on diverse topics, including ending epidemics, biomedical innovations, healthcare advocacy, federal healthcare agency updates, SYNCing syndemics (HIV, HCV, STIs, and Opioids), community engagement, pandemics and syndemics (COVID-19, MPX), aging and chronic disease management, Black women’s health, transgender health, and social determinants of health.
BCAP's Prevention staff are grateful to have attended this conference and are hard at work utilizing some of their newly acquired information and skills.
